Everest Three passes trek

Everest Three High passes trek is inspiring and challenging. Our trekking adventure let us cross three high passes in the Everest region - Kongma La Pass (5,535/18,159ft), Cho La Pass (5420m/17,782ft) and Renjo La Pass (5,340m/17,520ft) and set foot on the Everest base camp, climb Kalapatthar and Gokyo Ri; and tour Gokyo Lakes. This route also introduces trekkers to the remote and untouched Nangpa La Valley, the Sherpa village of Marlung and the monastery village of Thame.

Day1: Arrival in Kathmandu Airport - (1360m.)
After your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by our office representative and transferred to the hotel.

Day2: Kathmandu Valley sightseeing
The capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu, being the historical and cultural heart of the country, is a popular destination for tourists, trekkers and other types of adventure seekers. The city is a marvelous amalgamation of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and Western cultures influences. Patan and Bhaktapur are its two major neighboring cities. These two cities, like Kathmandu, have a rich historical, cultural and religious legacy which is reflected in the many temples, monuments and artifacts that they contain. You will be taken on a half-day guided tour of Kathmandu and Bhaktapur cities. In Kathmandu, you will be visiting Pashupatinath, the most famous and revered Hindu shrine in the country; Bouddhanath, the largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal, Swyambhunath, which contains both Buddhist and Hindu shrines and stands as testimony to the religious harmony that exists in the country; and the 15th-century 55-window palace in Bhaktapur. An orientation session for the trek, which commences the following day, will be organized in the evening.

Day 03: Fly to Lukla, trek to Phakding (2,651m/8,700ft): flight; 3 - 4 hours trek
A thrilling scenic flight to Lukla and a landing on a steep mountain runway brings us to the start of our trek at the village of Lukla [2850m]. After meeting the supporting crew, we head up the Dudh Koshi Valley on a well-marked trail and then stay overnight in Phakding.

Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,438m/11,280 ft): 5 - 6 hours
We begin our trek on uphill and downhill trails with multiple crossings over Dudh Koshi River and a magnificent view of Mt. Thamserku (21,675ft) from the Benkar village. We cross more bridges and reach the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo, where our trekking permits are checked. We walk furthermore and pass through Jorsale village before reaching Namche Bazaar. From here, we get beautiful views of the Himalayas including Everest, Lhotse, Tawache and others.

Day 05: Namche Bazaar: Rest and acclimatization
This is the first of the three scheduled rest days which will help us acclimatize to the high altitude. As experts opinion it’s good to remain active even in your rest day which will make you more active. So we are going to spend the day enjoying small hikes in and around Namche Bazaar, Khumjung Monastery and Hillary School and museum.

DAY 06 - Namche Bazaar to Thame (3800m) 5-6 hrs
We trek uphill to Thame for the night , we come out of Namche Bazar east past the monastery. We trek passing the view of Kusum Kanguru (6,373 m) keeping on with rocky Khumbi La (5765 m)on right side. Trekking up and down into the forest, the trip continues, the river bed becomes closer and wider reaching Thamo along widen slightly slope leading to the bridge over the Bhote Koshi which brings us to Thame.

DAY 07 - Thame to Lungden (4380m) 6-7 hrs 
We began our trek to Lungden via Marlung with a marvelous view of the beautiful panorama that gaze at the village to the west in clearer sky. Trekking parallel to the village of Yellajung on the other side of the Bhote Koshi, we pass the Tarngga village enjoying superb views of Kongde Ri as we look down the trail. A further gradually rising trail brings us to Marlung. It is a short walk from Marlung to Lungden. After Marlung, we climb a small rasing hill and crossing the water stream to reach Lungdeng.

DAY 08 - Lungden to Gokyo (4800m) via Renjo La (5360m) 8 - 9 hrs
Early trek starts heading to Gokyo Lake via renjo la pass with beautiful view. We head on the trail to the top of Renjo La pass where we will be welcomed with outstanding views of the surrounding and The Everest , Lhotse, Cholatse and Taboche can be seen shining with the sun. Views from Renjo La resemble that from Gokyo Ri with third Gokyo Lake and Gokyo Village beneath the old spread of Ngozumpa Glacier. We walk further through the glacier to Gokyo for the night.

DAY 09 - Rest and acclimatization: Morning climb to Gokyo - RI (5340m/17515ft) 5 - 6 hrs
Today we rest and have chance to become accustomed. If weather is favorable our trek to explore the Ri summit to view the panoramic landscape of mountains like Kusum Kanguru, Thamserku, K 43, Kangtega, Taboche, Cholatse, Makalu, Lhotse, Nuptse, Everest, Changtse, and Pumori. Gokyo village is famous for Fifth Lake in it surrounding and call it a day.

DAY 10 - Gokyo to Thangnak (4750m) 5 - 6 hrs
We climb out of the Gokyo village to a ridge through the Ngozumpa Glacier to the mountain on the other side on the trail to Thangnak. Furthermore, we trek passing along through the edge of that mountain, descending down with the magnificent views of Cho Oyu, Gokyo Ri, and other high Himalayas to Thangnak during our trek.

DAY 11 - Thangnak to Dzongla (4830m) via Cho La (5420m) 8-9 hrs
Cho La pass is also another show up of our trip which will be strenuous and can have altitude sickness. Our trail climbs through a narrow gorge and a rocky trail. Due to the landscape of glacier with slippery rocks may cause our trek difficult. We need to be careful because trail is vertical and the rocks glazed by ice add trouble to the trekkers making the trail slippery. We trek through the side of a frozen lake while we come to the top of the pass which is decorated by prayer flags. We need to pass through some gorge before we reach Dzongla.

DAY 12 - Dzongla to Lobuche (4940m) 4 - 5 hrs
Starting our trek we climb down from Dzongla and pon crossing a bridge heading to our next destination Lobuche. We transverse through grassy trail enjoying the view of Lobuche Peak we stretch up eventually through a ridge. The mountains of Ama Dablam, Kangtega, and Thamserku Taboche are seen looming prominently. Curving round through the wide gravelly river bed, we reach Lobuche.

DAY 13 - Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5170m)/ trek to Everest Base Camp (5364m) 7-8 hrs
Starting our trek with in mind for Everest base camp exploration We start with easy trek from Lobuche to Gorakshep. Everest base camp is difficult for succeeding trail which involves on foot to unsteady dune, moraines and glacial debris. We will also move toward famous Khumbu Glacier and icefall. The view is magnificent reaching Everest base camp in spring, where probable climber’s tent can be seen. Enjoying at the moment with memories we head back to Gorak Shep.

DAY 14 - Gorak Shep to Lobuche exploring Kalapatthar (5545m).. 7-8 hrs 
Waking up early to meet the target for sunrise we ascend our trek to Kalapatthar meaning “black rock”, with sensational Himalayan panorama view of a life time. The climb is harsh but a chance to take pleasure in your vision of viewing highest mountain at one place. We then trek back to Lobuche village.

DAY 15 - Lobuche to Chhukung (4730m) via Kongma La (5535m) 6 - 7 hrs
From Lobuche, trekking up through Khumbu Glacier we reach Kongma La. We enjoy the views of the wide basin dotted with frozen lakes and the marvelous views of Cholatse, Pokalde, Nuptse, Lhotse, Makalu and Ama Dablam. While descending down the Niyang Khola valley, we enjoy the great views of Amphu Lapcha Pass and Island Peak. Trekking further we get to Chukkung.

DAY 16 - Chhukung to Tengboche (3860 m) 6-7 hrs
Chhukung village is also the starting point for the Island Peak Climbing. Now we are getting closer to the Himalayan civilization of the Khumbu Region. The Imja Khola joins the Dudh Koshi River a little above the Pangboche Village. There is a famous monastery at Pangboche believed to have been the oldest in the Khumbu region. From Pangboche, we descend down the alpine desert and back into greenery of pine forests. The path leads to a steep uphill climb into Tengboche. We pay our visit to the famous Tengboche Monastery.

DAY 17 - Tengboche to Namche Bazzar: 5 - 6 hrs
From Tengboche, we make a steep descent and the trail leads us back along the Dudh Koshi River. We keep a lookout for wild life such as mountain goats, snow leopards, colorful pheasants, etc., while passing through the forest by the trail. After passing a Chortens, we reach the army camp at of Namche Bazaar where we want to take a long last look back to Lhotse, the tip of Everest and Tengboche. The final steep climb traverses the hill side taking us to Namche Bazaar.

Day 18: Namche Bazaar to Lukla: 7 - 8 hours
We descend on a rocky trail and cross several suspension bridges before walking on a leveled trail. The air is warmer as we walk on the same trail to reach Lukla. Our trek in the mountain ends after we reach Lukla. We spend our time reminiscing about our time spent in the mountain.

Day 19: Lukla to Kathmandu
We take flight to Kathmandu. The rest of your day is free in Kathmandu. In evening you can roam around Thamel, the major tourist destination of Kathmandu. You can do some last minute shopping for souvenirs for your family and relatives.

Day 20: Final Depature

Everest Three passes trek covers the routes of Chola-La 5,420m, Renjo la 5446m and Kongma La 5,535m pass is an adventures and challenging trip in Everest region. Everest Three passes trek Starts at Lukla and follows the Dudh Koshi valley which climbs up to the Sherpa capital of Namche, a bustling bazaar that’s a junction for trekkers, the local Sherpa and expedition’s route to the mighty Mt. Everest. All along this part of the trail, its friendly Sherpa people, picturesque villages great variety of culture and traditions, colorful festivals and monasteries. We ascend all the way to Chhikung for climb Chhukung RI, all the way to Gorak Shep to ascend Kalapatthar which would be the highest point of our trek. Trekking to the region will give you the lifetime memory of panoramic views of the Everest and others Himalayan range Furthermore we trek to Trek to Gokyo (4800m/15,580 ft) via Cho La pass (5368m/17,611 ft) The Gokyo Ri (5330m/17487 feet) is considered as the best viewpoint in the entire Everest Region. After exploring this imaging place, we cross over Chola-La pass (5420m).

An excursion to the fourth and fifth lakes would be an extra attraction in Gokyo Valley from where the views are great. The Ngozumpa Glacier is the largest in the Nepal Himalayas. The Gokyo Ri (5330m/17487 feet) is considered as the best viewpoint in the entire Everest Region. After exploring this imaging place, we cross over Chola-La pass (5420m) to go marlung Via Renjo-La pass. Renjo la pass provides. The Renjo-La Pass route is off the usual beaten track.

We will have a chance to visit Kalapather for the close view of Mt. Everest and Everest base camp (5364m,) to see Khumbu icefall. Kongma- La pass (5535m) is highest passes in these three passes. The views are excellent from top of Kongma La Pass. After nice view from the Kongma-La top, the trail descends down via Marlung. We then trek down by making our way back down to Lukla and Fly to Kathmandu.
