Ghorepani Poonhill Ghandruk Trek is situated at the northwest of Pokhara rests at an altitude of 2012meters. Trekking in this trail begins from Nayapul exploring picturesque view of mountains, culturally rich and down to earth people. Gurung are the ethnic group that dominates this place. Extremely magnificent high held mountains, hodgepodge of valleys, Rhododendron forests, and chilly waterfalls are some of the item this place has served you.

This place also bestows us with breathtaking view of Poon hill. Our journey starts from Kathmandu with a drive to beautiful city of Pokhara with scenic drive beside Trisuli River which appears with greenery and beautiful landscape. Our trek starts from the road end point. Nayapul will be the starting point and start our trail to Ghorepani Poonhill. Traditional Gurung tradition and customs which flaunt the local traditional clothes, their culture, the tools used by their ancestors is placed at Ghandruk is also one of the centers of attraction and descend back to Pokhara and option of drive or fly back to Kathmandu.

Day 4: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul 55km and Trek to Tikhedhunga (1540m)

Day 7: Trek from Ghandruk to Pokhara (900m)

Detail Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft)
After landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport, we will be greeted by a representative of Adventure Gorkhaland Treks & Expedition P Ltd representative who will drop us off at our hotel.

Day 2: Kathmandu: sightseeing and trek preparation
The capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu, being the historical and cultural heart of the country, is a popular destination for tourists, trekkers and other types of adventure seekers. The city is a marvelous amalgamation of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and Western cultures influences. Paten and Bhaktapur are its two major neighboring cities. These two cities, like Kathmandu, have a rich historical, cultural and religious legacy which is reflected in the many temples, monuments and artifacts that they contain. You will be taken on a half-day guided tour of Kathmandu and Bhaktapur cities. In Kathmandu, you will be visiting Pashupatinath, the most famous and revered Hindu shrine in the country; Bouddhanath, the largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal, Swyambhunath, which contains both Buddhist and Hindu shrines and stands as testimony to the religious harmony that exists in the country; and the 15th-century 55-window palace in Bhaktapur. An orientation session for the trek, which commences the following day, will be organized in the evening.

Day 3: Kathmandu to Pokhara.
Early morning after breakfast, we drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu (208km) via Prithvi Highway, takes 6hrs approximately (option of flying from Kathmandu to Pokhara, takes extra cost). Along the way we will stop in scenic spots, for lunch and to get fresh as well, en-route you experience the countryside which is lays with greenery, rivers, local villages, farm lands and beautiful mountain scenarios. Upon on arrival in Pokhara you have an option of your own.

Day 4: Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul 55km and Trek to Tikhedhunga (1540m)
After having breakfast early in the morning with a short drive to Nayapul and you will start your trek to Tikhedhunga. At a 30minutes walk from Nayapul you will reach to Birethati, here you have to show your trekking permit and TIMS in the National Park Office. After a short stops, and trail slightly goes Tikhedhunga via Burundi Khola, village of Sudame, Mathathati Hille and finally crossing many beautifully settled hamlet and reach to Tikhedhunga.

Day 5: Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2850m)
After breakfast the trail slightly drops to Bank of the small river. From here 2 hour climbs uphill to Magar and Gurung settlement village of Ulleri, which is beautiful village placed in the middle of forest from where you can witness the magnificent Annapurna south and other snowy peaks and walking path dead you through Rhododendron forest to Ghorepani via Nanggethati.

Day 6: Trek from Ghorepani to Ghandruk (2090m) via Poon Hill 3210m &Tadapani
Early in the morning you climb to Poon hill to witness the enthralling vista of sunrise with Mt Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, Machhauchhare, Hiunchuli, Nilgiri and Annapurna South in the rear view and hike back to Ghorepani, breakfast. The trail leads about five hours to reach the beautiful village of Tadapani 2660m.The trails slightly go downhill from Tadapani to Bhaise Kharka where you can find some tea house and quick break for tea, coffee and with downhill walk from here you will reach Ghandruk2090m. Here, trekkers are blessed with closest views of Annapurna and Machhapuchhare. Celebrate your trekking with Gurung culture and traditions.

Day 7: Trek from Ghandruk to Pokhara (900m)
After morning breakfast the trail leads you downhill for about three hours; the trail has some small tea house. Prolong your walk to reach Birethati. With a half an hour walk arrive to Nayapul with private transport drive back to Pokhara

Day 8: Pokhara to Kathmandu: Drive
Early morning after breakfast, we drive to Kathmandu (208km) via Prithvi Highway, takes 6hrs approximately (option of flying from Pokhara to Kathmandu, takes extra cost). Along the way we will stop in scenic spots, for lunch and to get fresh as well, en-route you experience the countryside which is lays with greenery, rivers, local villages, farm lands and beautiful mountain scenarios. Upon on arrival in Kathmandu you have an option of your own.
